What Else Do You Need?

2 Thessalonians 3:3  Yet the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and set you on a firm foundation and guard you from the evil one.

I was reading this passage the other day and as I was thinking about it, I thought, “What more do we really need?”  Everything we could ever need is pretty much wrapped up in this verse.

We live in a time of broken promises.  Sometimes, we are actually surprised when someone keeps their word.  But we can be assured that our God is always faithful to keep His Word.

When we feel weak and think we can’t make it in our strength alone, that’s when God steps in and gives us His supernatural strength.

Many times, the very foundation under our feet seems to be shaking.  But God says He will set us on a firm foundation, on a solid rock that cannot be moved by rain, wind, or anything else!

And maybe most important of all, is the knowledge that God will guard us from the evil one, the enemy of our soul.  To guard means to watch over, protect, defend, or shield.

Our Heavenly Father, Almighty God, is guarding you, His child, from the evil one.  Really, what else do you need?  What a comfort!  What peace!  He’s really all we ever need!
