How do we become an overcomer? 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says, “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds…and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
So, how do we take every thought captive? First of all, through the Word of God. Read God’s Word daily! And, don’t just read it. Think about it throughout the day! Memorize it. Even if it’s a verse a week, hide God’s Word in your heart.
And, don’t forget to pray! When thoughts of doubt come, pray! Even if it’s just to whisper the Name of Jesus! When we reach out to Him in prayer, He will answer us! Then, make sure you have a thankful heart! Philippians 4:8 says, “…if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. “
So what is praiseworthy in your life? Maybe all the times God has answered your prayers! That is definitely praiseworthy! I believe that if we do these three things: read, pray and have a thankful heart, we are taking our thoughts captive. When we take every thought captive, we will have overcoming power! My prayer for you today is that you live a victorious and overcoming life!
