Peace

If there is one thing the world is in need of, it is peace. I think it’s a universal problem. We need peace in our country, in our families, and especially in our hearts.

There are so many verses on peace, but Philippians 4:7 (Amplified) is one of the best. “And God’s peace shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

That’s a lot of words! So what does “garrison” and “mount guard over” mean? It means that God is going to keep watch over, control, and protect our minds. No matter what is going on in the world around us, no matter what our circumstances may be, we can still be assured of a peace that transcends all understanding.

That’s the kind of peace Jesus brings. It’s the peace He spoke into existence when there was a storm raging. Jesus was asleep in the back of the boat. His disciples were terrified, so they woke Him up. And He spoke to the storm, “Peace be still.”

I heard someone say that Jesus walks on the water, the thing that you feel is going to take you under, that’s what He walks on!

If you are troubled and lack peace today, I pray that He will speak to your storm and bring you peace that only He can give!
