When God Works
Isaiah 14:27 is one of my favorite verses. It says, “For the Lord of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it? And as for His stretched-out hand, who can turn it back?”
I think that’s such an interesting choice of words. In the dictionary, frustrate means to prevent. So the first part of this verse is saying that God has something planned and nothing can prevent what He has planned.
And the word turn means to move in a new direction, course, or purpose. When God has stretched out His hand to move, nothing can change His course or direction.
So how does that apply to us? Is there something about which you have been praying, and for which you are trusting and believing God? It may seem like you have been standing in faith for a very long time. Sometimes, it may seem like our prayers go unanswered and we wonder if God has even heard us.
Well, let me assure you, He has heard us and He will answer. I don’t know why it seems to take such a long time, but I still believe. I believe God has a plan. Nothing can stop His plan or change His mind. He is at work!
There’s a song that says, “Even when we don’t see it, He’s working.” I believe if we will stand in faith, we will see the answer to our prayers! And in time, we will see His plan unfold.
