Lamentations 3:17-26
I was reading this passage of Scripture recently and it spoke to me at just the right moment. I want to share it with you.
Verse 17 – And my soul has been rejected from peace;
I have forgotten happiness.
Verse 18 – So I say, “My strength has perished,
And so has my hope from the Lord.”
That’s a pretty sad place to be, isn’t it? But haven’t we all felt that way before?
Aw, but here it comes: remembering!
Verse 19 – Remember my affliction…
Verse 20 – Surely my soul remembers…
Verse 21 – This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope.
And then when we remember, we see the goodness of our God!
Verse 22 – The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
Verse 23 – They are new every morning;
Great is Thy faithfulness.
Verse 24 – “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I have hope in Him.”
Verse 25 – The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
To the person who seeks Him.
Verse 26 – It is good that he waits silently
For the salvation of the Lord.
To put it simply, in our desperation, we need to remember what God has done. And when we remember, we will again see the goodness of our God. We will see that His lovingkindness and compassions never fail. In fact, we will realize that they are new every morning. And we will see that HE IS FAITHFUL!
Let us hope in Him and wait for the salvation of the Lord! It is coming! It’s on the way!
