Hat and Spirit Day
One of the greatest joys as a believer is when our children decide to follow Jesus. The same can be said when our grandchildren make that decision. That’s exactly what happened this week with two of our youngest grandsons, Cason (6) and Travis (4).
You can imagine the joy we felt when they told us in a video that they had asked Jesus into their hearts and that now someday they would be in heaven with Him.
Now here is the other exciting part. After they told us that great news, they then told us that today was “spirit day” and “hat day” at school. And this is why I think that is so important. Making the decision to follow Jesus does not insure that these little boys will never have hurt feelings or a scraped knee again.
We live in a world that has been scarred by sin. But what it does guarantee is that we can have joy! 1 Timothy 6:17 says that God richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.
So Cason and Travis, welcome to the family of God! And enjoy your “hat day” and “spirit day”! Jesus came to give us abundant life that’s full of joy!
