Spilled Milk

We’ve all heard the expression, “Don’t cry over spilled milk.” Pretty easy to say, isn’t it? Unless it’s your spilled milk, or diet coke, or whatever.

The other day, I actually was having trouble getting an egg out of the carton and dropped it on the floor. Now that was a mess!

There’s something about spilling things, or making senseless mistakes that is just annoying! It sets a bad tone for the rest of the day.

But if you think about it, how bad is it really? With tragedies all over the world, sickness, earthquakes, wars, car accidents, does a little mess really matter? Sure, it’s annoying. It takes time away from something else we could be doing. But I don’t want a little nuisance to keep me from enjoying what’s really important in life.

Philippians 4:4 – “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!” 1 Peter 1:8 talks about “…joy inexpressible and full of glory.”

I am determined to have joy in spite of spilled milk or eggs on the floor. God deserves our praise and He wants us to be joyful no matter what annoyances may come our way! Today, I choose joy!!
