Spending Time With Jesus

I believe more than ever, it’s important to spend time with Jesus. Sometimes it’s easy to feel like it’s just a part of our routine; a box to check off. But really it’s so much more than that!

What if we got up in the morning and we had the attitude, “I can’t wait to spend the first moments of this day with You, Lord. I can’t wait to hear what you have to say to me today!” What a difference that would make.

I believe God has something new to speak to us every day. And He will speak, if we will listen. Sometimes He speaks directly through His Word. Sometimes it will be through something else I am reading during my devotions. Sometimes it’s through an impression I feel in my spirit.

God will give us direction when He speaks. It may be something I need to work on personally. It may be a word of encouragement I need, or maybe someone to whom I need to reach out. But there’s no doubt about it – God will speak, if I will listen.

I don’t know about you, but tomorrow morning when I get up, I am excited to see what God has to speak to me. I am looking forward to my time with Jesus with great anticipation!
