Keeping a Grip on Hope on Hope

“I’ll never forget the trouble, the utter lostness, the taste of ashes, the poison I’ve swallowed. I remember it all – oh, how well I remember – the feeling of hitting the bottom. BUT, there’s one other thing I remember, and remembering, I keep a grip on hope.

“God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out. His merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning.

“How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.” Lamentations 3:19-24 (MSG)

Wow!! I could stop right there, but let me add my thoughts. We can all relate to hitting bottom. But isn’t it incredible to realize that God’s merciful love doesn’t dry up? His mercies are new every morning. And if He really is “all you’ve got left,” what more do you need?

I remember hearing about the man who only had bread and water for his meal. He said, “All this and Jesus, too!” Let’s all keep a grip on hope and remember that we have Jesus! He is our greatest hope – the Hope of the world!
