From My Heart to Yours…
I recently heard an interview with someone with whom I totally disagree. If I had the opportunity to meet this person, I would probably want to say, “You are totally ridiculous,” and just dismiss them.
But as I listened, my heart was touched. I realized this person was totally confused. I also know they have a soul and they will spend eternity in either Heaven or Hell. I felt a tug on my heart to pray for this “high profile” individual.
In 1949, Billy Graham held a crusade in Los Angeles. Up until then, he was an evangelist that most people had never heard of. But it was during that crusade that a well-known radio personality, Stuart Hamblen, gave his heart to Jesus. And after that, Billy Graham’s ministry began to grow.
I am sure there were many people who were influenced to follow Christ because of this man’s conversion. Stuart Hamblen wrote a song after this crusade entitled, “It Is No Secret What God Can Do.”
So, this is my challenge to all of us. What would happen if we began to pray for people of influence in high places? What if we look past our differences and ask Jesus to touch and change their hearts? What if we ask God to give us a new passion for the lost?
The bottom line is this: we want Hell’s population to be decreased and Heaven’s population to be increased. And the way to make that happen is for us to pray for the lost and share our faith when we have the opportunity. The question is, are we ready to accept the challenge?
