You’re Not Going to Win This Battle

We have a very special young man in our church. His name is Michael Phillips. He is a good friend and always has an encouraging word for everyone.

One night, at a prayer meeting, I was walking through the church and I noticed Michael. He was kneeling down and he had a picture in front of him that he had drawn. It was a picture of a battle and I heard him say, “You’re not going to win this battle, Satan!”

It so impressed me that I have never forgotten it. Many times, we go through life discouraged and defeated. There are so many verses in God’s Word that we can stand on to encourage ourselves in times like these.

Verses like:

Jeremiah 1:19: “They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you. I will fight for you, saith the Lord, and I will deliver you.”

2 Chronicles 20:15: “The battle is not yours but God’s.

Romans 8:11: “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Isaiah 54:17: “No weapon formed against you will prevail.”

The next time you have one of those discouraging moments, remember what God’s Word says and stand your ground. Look the enemy in the face and say, “You’re not going to win this battle, Satan!” Then stand and watch the miracle that God will do for you!
