How do we “Take Hope”?
I heard someone recently say, “You need to take hope!” That sounds like a great thing to do, but what does that really mean? It implies that you and I need to do something, but how?
The word “take” is an action word. It means to get possession of, sometimes by force, or to get hold of, grasp.
Hope is a powerful word! It is a “feeling that what is wanted will happen.”
When we hear the phrase “you take hope,” we need to actively believe that what we want is going to happen. We can keep our hope alive by reminding ourselves of all the times God has proven Himself to be true in our lives.
How many times has God answered prayers in your past? What good things has He done for you this week, this day, even this very minute? If I stop and think about it, there are so many times God has been faithful and answered my prayers!
Even right now I can see God’s goodness all around me. The Creator of the universe has blessed me with an amazing family, an amazing church, and the blessing of being alive!
So no matter what you are going through right now, make the decision to “take hope!” Actively begin to praise God for his blessings and answered prayer! This can be truly life changing!
