3 “R’s”

When we think of three “R’s” we usually think of reading, writing, and arithmetic. But that’s not what I am talking about.

There are three words that begin with “R” that are very effective in fighting the enemy of our souls. Those words are resist, replace, and rejoice.

Whether we are a new believer or have walked with the Lord for many years, the enemy still tries his best to discourage us and deceive us. So it’s important to remember these three words.

Resist – Resist the devil (stand firm against him), and he will flee from you. James 4:7 (Amp)

Replace – Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things. Philippians 4:8 (NASB) The Amplified Bible says to “fix your minds on them.”

Rejoice – Rejoice in the Lord always (delight, gladden yourselves in Him); again I say, rejoice! Philippians 4:4 (Amp)

So, when thoughts and doubts come to your mind that are from the enemy, resist him, replace those thoughts, and rejoice in the Lord, ALWAYS!! 1 Peter 5:8 says the devil prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. He can’t touch us if we are resisting, replacing, and rejoicing
