The Feet of Jesus

I have been thinking recently about all that Jesus went through for us. There are so many things such as the crown of thorns that was put on His head, the stripes on His back, and His side that was pierced with a spear.

But lately, I have been thinking a lot about His feet. He walked the hills of Judea and the shores of Galilee. His feet must have been dusty and tired. So, He can identify with us when we grow tired and weary.

Those same feet walked on water. I heard someone once say that Jesus walked on the waves that we sometimes feel will overwhelm us and take us under. That’s a reminder that with Him, we can’t go under.

And then those feet were pierced through for us. The nails in His feet held Him to the cross. Have you ever hurt your foot, maybe stubbed your toe? That is painful enough, but can you even imagine rusty nails being driven through your feet? And He did it all for you and me! He did it so we could have salvation and eternal life! I am so grateful!

While I was thinking about all of this, I remembered that the best part is yet to come. One day, we will all kneel and worship at the feet of Jesus. And it won’t be for just an hour or a day, but for all eternity!
