God’s Care for His Children
If you ever need to be reminded of just how much God cares for His children, read Psalm 105 beginning at verse 39.
Verse 39 is talking about how God led the children of Israel with a cloud by day and a fire by night. That was God providing for their guidance, showing them where to go.
In verse 40, He provided quail and bread. And that was provision for their physical needs.
Verse 41 might be my favorite in this chapter. “He opened the rock and it flowed out; It ran in the dry places like a river.” Again, God was probably providing water because of their physical thirst, but I think it might be more than that.
Sometimes, we may be emotionally and spiritually “dry.” And that’s when God allows the river of the Holy Spirit to flow into our dry and thirsty souls.
So many times in the Bible, it talks about the rain as a refreshing, like a spiritual “rain” that we need when we are dry.
Do you need a spiritual renewing, a refreshing? I pray that all of us experience that today. May the power of the Holy Spirit flood our souls with a “rain” that refreshes and renews us!
