Tangled Cords
Is it just me or does anyone else manage to tangle up cords? It might be cords to my cell phone, an iPod, or it might sometimes be pieces of jewelry that get all tangled up.
Whatever it is, it can be annoying and time consuming to straighten out these messes! And how does this happen anyway?
Well, that’s an easy answer! It usually happens when I get in a big hurry! I just throw things together and the next thing I know I have a big mess to straighten out. And how do I do that? First of all, it takes a whole lot of patience!
Isn’t that how it is sometimes in our lives? We get in a hurry. We don’t consider the consequences of our choices and the next thing we know our lives are one big tangled mess!
Here’s the good news. We have a Savior who offers immediate forgiveness when we come to Him, but straightening out our lives can sometimes take a little longer.
The problem is we don’t always want to wait. After all, we live in a microwave generation where we can bake potatoes in about 10 minutes. Why would we want to bake them in the oven when it takes so much longer? The answer – because they are so much better!
We just need to remind ourselves that the process God is taking us through is worth the wait! If we are patient, the result is so much better than if we insist on rushing the final outcome.
I don’t know what “tangled mess” you might be dealing with, but are you willing to let God work this out?
Romans 8:28 says, “God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God.” It might take some patience on our part, but He is so much better at untangling things than we are.
And, while you are waiting, would you rather have that potato baked in a microwave or a regular oven? Think about it. There’s really no comparison. The results are worth the wait!
