A Work of Grace

Have you ever heard the statement, “Well, that person is just a piece of work!”? And maybe, at times, we have even thought that about ourselves. It’s probably when we feel like we have really messed up.

Let’s face it. We all make mistakes from time to time. We are human and no matter how hard we try, there are just those days when we want a “do over.”

But here’s the truth. We may feel like we’ve made a mess of things, but the reality is that we are a “work of grace.” Because of Jesus death on the cross, we have forgiveness and redemption.

In Lamentations 3:22-23 it says, “The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, His compassions never fail, they are new every morning; Great is His faithfulness.”

What an incredible assurance that is. Every day we get a fresh, new start!

So, the next time the enemy says to you that you are just “a piece of work,” you remind him that you are really a work of grace, a work that is still in progress, being shaped and molded into the image of Jesus. And that’s our goal – to become more like Him!
