It happened…Again

Last year was such a crazy year. There was Covid, of course, and then we had that ice storm when so many people lost electricity. We did at our house. And although we didn’t have it nearly as badly as so many people did, it still was a major inconvenience.

And just when we thought everything was back to normal, it happened again the other night. We were watching something on TV when everything went dark. And it wasn’t just a flicker. It went dark and stayed dark. Someone had hit a transformer and the neighborhood experienced another blackout.

It was a reminder once again of how much we depend on electricity. It was a reminder once again of how much I need to stay connected to my source of power in the spiritual realm.

It’s interesting. Sometimes you will hear someone say something when you are young and it stays with you all your life. I remember when I was young, hearing a man in our church say that he had felt a distance in his relationship with the Lord. And he said the Lord spoke to him and said, “Well, I didn’t move. I’m still here. You moved away from me.”

There’s a spiritual truth there. When we feel a distance from God, maybe it’s time to check and see if we are connected to our power source…again. Let’s stay connected.
