I Will Watch, I Will Wait

But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the Lord;

I will wait for the God of My salvation

My God will hear me.

Micah7:7

This is such a great verse! And there are two key words here: one, is watch and one is wait.

When we are watching, we are being attentive, keeping vigil or guard. When we are waiting, we remain, expecting something. While watching is very important, so is waiting. And I love the definition – “we remain, expecting something.” If we are waiting (remaining) it does not mean we are busy running around, wringing our hands. It means just what it says. We wait.

One of my favorite songs that I listen to on the radio is “I’m Gonna Wait on You, Lord.” It’s a choice that we make, to watch and wait. And when we make that choice, we can be assured that our God will hear us.

As believers, let’s watch and wait. Let’s not forget that God hears us. And He doesn’t just hear us, He answers us!
