Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

“Learn to look steadily at me in all your moments and all your circumstances.” That was a statement I read recently in one of my devotionals.

Now, if we could just remember that truth when the storms of life are raging and our boat is rocking!

There’s an old song that we used to sing in the church where I grew up. It said, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.”

I’m just thinking how simple this is. And yet, how powerful it is!

If we can just remember to look at our circumstances through the eyes of Jesus, with the knowledge that “He will never leave us or forsake us.” (Hebrews 13:5)

I really love the way this verse reads in one of my favorite translations.

“…I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless, nor forsake nor let [you] down, [relax My hold on you]. – Assuredly not!” (Amp)

You can’t ask for a promise any better than that one!
