Trusting
“My heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.” Psalm 57:7. This was one of my mother’s favorite verses. And I love it too!
I remember driving in the car with my mom several years ago and her telling me that living for God had been so worth it. She had accepted the Lord as a young girl and began singing on her church’s radio program when she was twelve years old. She wanted me to know that she never regretted her decision to follow Jesus. And that He had always been faithful to her.
When our hearts are fixed on something, it is permanent. And when we trust, we have confident expectation in something or someone. So basically, this verse is saying that my heart is fixed and I am relying totally on the Lord, being confident that He will take care of me.
My mom knew firsthand the faithfulness of our God. And I am so glad she passed that down to me! And I get to pass it on to my children and grandchildren!
