Can We Do Less Than Gideon?
There’s a powerful story in the Book of Judges chapter 7.
Gideon is the leader of the army of Israel. God has told him that he would lead his small army of 300 into battle to defeat the people of Midian.
God wanted the army to be small so His people would recognize that God was fighting for them and HE would be the one to bring them out of this battle victoriously!
God knew Gideon would probably have some doubts about this battle, so He instructed him and his servant to go to the enemy’s camp and listen outside one of the tents. What Gideon overheard was pretty amazing.
Inside the tent, there was a conversation between a man and his friend. The man was describing something he had dreamed. The friend told him the interpretation of the dream meant that God was going to use Israel to defeat the Midianites. When Gideon heard this, he bowed and worshipped God.
What prayers are you praying and believing God to answer? Gideon chose to worship before the enemy had been defeated, even before the battle had begun! Can we do less?
What if, right now, you begin to praise and worship before ever seeing the answer to your prayer? Like Gideon, let’s bow and worship the God who has never lost a battle, not even one time!
