Power, Presence, Protect
I recently read in one of my devotions, that we as believers need to consider the power of God’s presence to protect us and that which is dear to us.
I think we all are aware that God has the power to do absolutely anything, but I did a study on these words.
“Power” is the ability someone has to do or act.
“Presence” refers to God’s Spirit.
“Protect” means to shield from harm or danger.
So quite literally, this means that God’s Presence or Spirit has the ability to shield us and those we hold dear from harm or danger.
It reminded me of a time several years ago when Eddy and I were going out of town. Tiffany still lived at home and our oldest daughter, Christy, lived a few doors down. Tiffany was staying home by herself, but Christy was close if she needed anything.
I remember watching Tiffany drive off to school (as I did every day), and praying over her as she drove away. I thought to myself, who will do this while I’m gone? And God reminded me that she was in His hands.
And who could watch over her better than our Heavenly Father? The power of God’s presence would be there to shield her and keep her from harm or danger! I could trust Him to take care of her!
