God’s Track Record
2 Timothy 1:12 (NASB) says, “For I know whom I have believed and am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.”
I really love how the Message paraphrase says it in this verse. “I couldn’t be more sure of my ground—the One I’ve trusted in can take care of what He’s trusted me to do right to the end.”
These verses are so full of promise and power! But how can we be so sure that God will keep His promises to us?
First of all, we can trust His Word. His Word never fails. But on a more personal level, we can look back over our lives and see what God has done for us. Think of all the times He has answered the simplest prayer and supplied your needs.
When you look over your life, can you think of one time that he has ever failed you or not come through when you needed Him to do so?
So many times, people who have not always served the Lord will tell you that they knew God had His hand on their lives and was directing them even before they surrendered their lives to Him.
If you are having doubts, I challenge you to boldly say with the Apostle Paul, “He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day!”
Then step back and watch what God will do!
