When God Speaks

“For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded and it stood firm.” Psalm 33:9 (NIV)

This is such a powerful verse. When God speaks, it is with authority. The word “authority” means to govern, control or command. That means when God speaks, He is in command and control of the situation.

I love The Message paraphrase of this verse! “…He spoke and there it was, in place the moment He said so.”

 The verse God gave me for this year is Numbers 23:19: “God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

These verses are very similar. They are basically saying that God keeps His Word.
