Trusting in God’s Unfailing Love

Psalm 13 is a short chapter; only six verses, but so very powerful. If you stop at verse 4, you will see a very discouraged man.

But David doesn’t stop there. He goes on to verses 5 and 6.

“But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for He has been good to me.” (NIV)

And I always love to see what The Message paraphrase says.

“I’ve thrown myself headlong into your arms—I’m celebrating your rescue. I’m singing at the top of my lungs. I’m so full of answered prayers.”

You may be feeling like David did at the first of this chapter. He felt forgotten and forsaken. What happened to change his outlook?

He made the decision to trust in God’s unfailing love; to throw himself headlong into God’s arms. Then he rejoices and sings because God has been so good to him. He realizes how many prayers God has answered for him.

Let’s follow David’s example! Let’s choose to trust God and thank Him for all the many prayers He has answered! This decision can change a sad day into a day full of joy!
