Count Your Blessings

Growing up in church there was a hymn we would sing called “Count Your Blessings.”

One of the lines in the first verse says:

Count your many blessings name them one by one,

And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

What if we took this song literally and began each day spending time just counting our blessings? Where would we begin? The greatest gift we could ever receive, is the gift of Jesus, God’s Son. We could start there. And then we could thank God for every time He has heard and answered a prayer and all the times He has kept us safe.

We could go on and thank Him for every meal, the clothes we wear, and the roof over our heads. If we begin to count our blessings and name them one by one, it would never end!

We serve such a good and gracious God! And He loves it when we have a grateful heart! Let’s “Count Our Many Blessings!”
