Fret Not, Fear Not

The word “fret” is an interesting word that we don’t use much anymore. It is when “you are continuously perturbed by worry.” “Fear” is the “state of being afraid.”

I think there are probably a lot of people who are “continuously worried” and live “in the state of being afraid.”

If you were to ask them “why” they are worried or fearful, you would probably get a lot of different answers. Some would be worried about their health. Others would be worried about their finances. Some might be concerned about what is going on in the world around them. The answers might vary, but it would still come back to those two words “fret” and “fear.”

As believers, we can get caught up in these same emotions if we aren’t careful. The best way to live victoriously, in spite of everything, is knowing what the Bible says. When we find ourselves in these situations we can rely on the Word of God.

Romans 8:31: “If God is for us, who can stand against us?”

Isaiah 54:17: “No weapon formed against you will prevail.”

Isaiah 26:3: “Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee. Because He trusts in Thee.”

The greatest defense we have against fret and fear, is the Word of God!

Let’s use it!
