Criticism
Criticism can be so harsh at times. Don’t we all struggle with it? Anyone in a place of leadership will have the opportunity to be criticized. When you think about it, we probably all are in a place of leadership.
If you are a parent, you lead your children. If you are in a place of business, you may lead your department. If you are a pastor, you lead your church.
There’s a verse in the Bible that says, “Great peace have they which love Thy law; and nothing shall offend them.” Psalm 119:165. Really? Yes! It really does say that!
Let’s take a closer look at this word “criticism.” First of all, there is nothing we can do about it. It is just going to happen from time to time. No matter how hard we try or how hard we work, it comes to all of us.
Keeping that in my mind, when criticism comes my way, how will I handle it? Can I learn from it? Is any of it valid? If so, I have the opportunity to change.
And it gives me the opportunity to grow stronger, press on, and show God’s love in the situation. When you think about it, criticism may not be that bad after all. It’s another way for God to shape us in His image so we can become all that He wants us to be! And that’s a good thing!
